La Fontana
7648 Northwoods Blvd.
North Charleston, SC

As Italian restaurants go this one needs to be ranked at the top especially since it is in the deep south. The atmosphere although looking more Hispanic on the exterior the interior gives a pretty good feel of being in a Chicago Italian locale.
The staff (John) is absolutely pleasant. The served pasta cooked to perfection  and served and plated beautifully.
We had to take a little consideration as this is a relatively new establishment and they were out of a few select Items!
We threw the Chef a curve in ordering something that only some one that grew up around old Italians surrounded by old polish and Ukraine's would probably even think of doing but he produced ( and we didn't even hear any yelling from the kitchen).
They do have whole Grain wheat pasta and they prepare it well also.
As for there wines and drinks sorry we can't attest to this yet as we didn't partake but will soon I'm sure.
Parking lot is small the dining area is not real large more then sufficient for the evening we were there.
This is going to be a favorite spot for many in Charleston so don't delay try it today it is already becoming a popular spot for the NCharleston locals.
